Fasting is not that easy…..atleast for some of us. But if you keep yourself hydrated and take calories from the right sources then you can make fasting a happy ritual. Here are a few drinks to consider while fasting…
Sweet Lassi– This simple yogurt drink is known to have a cooling effect on stomach. You can blend yogurt and water in 2:1 ration and add a bit of honey or sugar as required. Honey and sugar will provide a good amount of energy to you whole day.
Buttermilk– If you make white butter at home then the remaining water which is also known as buttermilk can be stored and kept for later consumption. Add a few crushed mint leaves, jeera powder, a small piece of ginger, green chilli as per taste and blend everything in a blender. You can add seendha namak if you prefer adding salt to this drink.
Banana smoothie– Bananas are known to keep you full for long by providing right amount of calories. They also keep your system and gut healthy. Take handful of dry fruits, one banana, honey and Greek or flavored yogurt. Blend everything and enjoy.
Chikoo shake– Chikoo is another fruit which is high on good calories. You can simply blend it with milk and have it as is. No need to add sugar as it is already a very sweet fruit. Chikoo will fuel you with energy throughout the day.
Badam milk– We all can rely on this one. Traditional badam milk flavored with saffron is the best thing to have during fast. It is one energy drink which will keep your tummy and soul satisfied for long.
Grape juice– Wash the grapes thoroughly and dip them in hot water for 5 minutes. Now peel all the grapes and put them directly into a blender. Your instant energy drink is ready.
Coconut water– Coconut water when blended with its cream tastes like heaven. Have you tried it yet. If no, then do try it during fasting. Nothing like starting your day with a fresh coconut juice.
