Winters are already around the corner and if you are a plant lover or a gardening freak then you will know how important this transition is. This change in whether when its neither hot nor too cold, is a perfect time to plant flowering plants for the coming season. So here are some suggestions for winter flowering plants.
Marigold– Marigold is everyone’s favorite flowering plant because of its color, fragrance and usage. In Hindu homes this plant is a must as it is used widely for pooja and prayers. It comes in orange and yellow color and you can also choose a mix of yellow and red. It will give you tons of flowers in winter season predominantly upto March.
Pansy– Pansy is an another plant which flowers well in winter season. It also comes in variety of colors and is a low heighted plant. Since it does not grow too much in height therefore its an idle flowering plant to prepare hedge or borders around the garden.
Petunia– Petunia blooms in bunches. You will love your petunia plants when it starts flowering as it flowers really well and in abundance. You can use them as hanging plants and place them where there is full sunlight.
Rose– Rose is again everyone’s favorite plant which comes in different varieties and colors. Having a rose plant in different colors is a must have for every plant lover.
Gladiolus– If you are looking for an ornamental flowering plant then this one is a show stopper. Our tip would be to plant this variety in a wide open mouth pot where you can have at least four to five bunches of plants and all in different colors to make a mark.
Begonia– This plant hardly survives in hot climates and if you love the texture and the appeal of this plant then plant it during the winter season. It comes in variety of colors and is a beautiful ornamental plant.
Dianthus– This is again a low heighted plant which gives tons of flowers in one sapling. It will survive uptill March and is an idle winter flowering plant.
Dahilya– It’s hard to describe the beauty of this plant. It comes in different colors and will definitely take the beauty of your winter garden to a next level.
