Gucci iOS App Now Allows You To Try Shoes Using Augmented reality

If you are an avid online shopper and hate going to malls, or feel sick standing in long ques to find out a decent stuff for yourself then this is a big news for you…

The Italian luxury brand Gucci has teamed up with technology partner Waanaby to launch the ‘Try On’, a groundbreaking AR (Augmented Reality) function that allows people to “try-on” one of its Ace sneakers at any time and from anywhere with a simple push of a button, reported Venturebeat.com.

Many startups are already using this technology where the customers gets to try footwear, sunglasses, spectacles, clothes etc., and all this at the ease of sitting anywhere in the world. In the Gucci iOS app, all you have to do is to pick up a style which you like and point your phone camera on your feet, and the app will allow you to try them virtually. This way you will get to know how they look on you. How cool and easy isn’t it….But this is not all, well the app also has a built-in photo feature which allows you to click the picture while you try the footwear on and lets you share the images via text, email and social media.

For all those who are not aware of Wannaby, well its a Belarus based startup which had earlier this year launched its own app ‘Wanna Kicks’ where users can virtually try on 3D models from Nike, Adidas, Allbirds and others. Apart from shoes, the startup also offers Wanna Nails, an app that lets users “try on” nail polish from curated collections with real-time recoloring. Jewellery and apparel are next on their mind.
