Diya made of clay or mitti are the purest form of lights you can bring home on Diwali. They are eco friendly plus buying them helps the local potters. But using them just plain is no fun, here are some ideas how you can use them to decorate your house for Diwali.
Place them with marigold flowers– Now no Diwali is complete till you don’t use marigold flowers for decor and pooja. You can make a beautiful setting like this over your center table or even at the entrance of the house.
Go for an earthen setup– A claypot can be filled with water and placed at the center. Throw in a few flower petals and some floating candles and simply place the diya’s around the pot. You can even sprinkle few flower petals and leafs in between the spaces for a colorful look.
Use a mix of simple and colorful diya’s– One of the most simplest of all the arrangements is this one. Just mix and match the two types and you are sorted.
Use a circular rangoli as a base– A simple circular rangoli done in single color like this can be used as a base to place the diya’s at the corner of the home.
Flower petals bedding– Make a bedding of flower petals like this and use any decorative piece at the center and place the diya’s around it. You can also place a few colorful candles near to this setup.
