In order to recognize the outstanding contribution to the Indian Cinema, actor turned politician Kamal Hasan was awarded a doctorate degree by Odisha chief minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik. He was conferred the honorary doctorate by the Centurion Institute of Management and Technology.
“Haasan is a legend who has served the nation throughout his life through art, cinema and humanitarian works. He has made many new experiments in cinema. His silent movie ‘Pushpak’ has been hailed as an all time great in the world of cinema,” said the Chief Minister.
On this occasion the CM said “I am informed that he has turned his fan club into an organisation for humanitarian activities. This speaks volumes about his commitment for human values. I wish him success in all his endeavours”.
“I am very honored to get an honorary degree which is being given for the first time from the university. I think Odisha is a model state from which we are trying to learn many things in order to develop Tamil Nadu. I thank Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for taking out his time to honor me and my relatively new Makkal Needhi Maiam party,” the actor said.
