5 Ways To Create A New Dress Using Old Sarees

If you have a saree which you just do not want to wear anymore. Or have a traditional fabric lying at home and can not figure out what to do with it, then this article is for you! Traditional fabrics can be used to make so many interesting designs and silhouettes, and you can easily turn them into a party material. Here are a few design inspirations…..

Straight Dress– Wear a straight brocade dress to make the heads turn at the party! For a body hugging fit opt for a princess cut design with a center back opening at the hemline. Adding a yoke will give a nice design to the dress, where you can add some embellishments like embroidery at the neckline.

Cord-set– These sets are very much in fashion and can be done in so many ways. Opt for a design which best suits you and use the same fabric to create the upper and bottom. Like you can go for a kurti and loose culottes, or a knee length kurta with pants and so on.

Lehnga choli– Creating a lehnga choli is an another idea to go for! Now you can either create an entire set of lehnga and choli using the same fabric with the dupatta being in sheer fabric. Or Use the fabric to make just the upper with the bottom in a flowy fabric like georgette, net etc. You can use the textured or the choli fabric to create a border on the dupatta.

Pantsuit– To create a formal but partywear look you can try getting a pantsuit stitched for yourself. This style would be more apt to wear as a winterwear. Or you can also go for a sleeveless jacket style.

Midi dress– If you are looking to create a fusion option then this mid calf length dress in A line silhouette is best to try. This has a fitted upper which is in yoke style and the bottom is done in flare.
