Do you have fabrics at home which are so dear to you which you simply can’t get rid off. Often we have fabric pieces in tits and bits which are heirloom pieces, or even fabrics which hold a special place and memories in our heart. But just letting them lye like that in wardrobe is no justice to them until you display and frame them for lifetime. So here are a few ways to decorate your home with such things….
Decorative frames– If you have different fabrics then you can use them to create a beautiful wall décor by framing them in antique frames. You can mix and match brocade fabrics and embroidered ones together using different frames and it will create a nice variation in textures and colors.
Use it as a decorative panel above dining table– If you feel that the area around your dining table is too plain or quiet, and if you want to add an eye catchy element in this area then this idea is perfect for you. Decide the area you want to cover and get a framed board made with your fabrics and use it with an interesting light to revamp the setting. You can use a single fabric or can even use cuttings of different fabrics to make one single large piece.
Revamp your tables– If you have a large piece of a cloth like a saree pallu or a shawl or stole then it can be used to decorate your glass tables. Use them as is underneath the glass and it will look so classy. And of course you will have to adjust the design of your fabric according to the size of your table.
Turn them into decorative trays– Decorative trays are multifunctional. You can use them to decorate walls, or keep them over your tables and mix and match them with other decorative figures and pieces.
Decorate a wall– If you have a wall which is perfectly sized to suit the size of your fabric then this is how it can be done. Display it using a decorative curtain rod, and use a console in front of it to turn this wall into a highlight of your room.
