To improvise the healthcare ecosystem and contribute towards the Digital India Mission of the Government of India, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission was launched in 2021 to provide a stress-free healthcare system to the citizens of India across the nation through digital platforms. This intervention by National Health Authority (NHA) is known as Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA).
About ABHA
The initiative by Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), the unique health ID named ABHA card, is a stress-free method of digitally accessing a citizen’s health records. This card includes a unique identification number and address that helps the health provider to access records like prescriptions, lab reports, diagnoses, etc. Using this ABHA number the person can link it’s existing and new medical records in a few clicks that will help share these documents seamlessly to health providers without any geographical barriers, thus, creating a faster health check-up system. Thus, ABHA is the first step towards creating a safe, secure, and organised health record atmosphere.
Different Ways To Create ABHA ID
To get ABHA health card registration, there are three ways to get it made. You can use your Aadhar card, driving license, or mobile number, the latter only when the first two document proof is not available with you. It is always advised to consider the first two options available for an impeccable process.
1. Aadhar Card-
If your Aadhar card is linked to your mobile number, you can use your Aadhar to register for ABHA health ID. The mobile number is required for OTP authentication. In case your mobile number is not linked to your Aadhar, feel free to seek assistance from the ABDM facility. Once the authentication is done, enter your details along with your username and password to create the account.
2. Driving License-
If you use your driving license to get the ABHA health ID, you will get an enrollment number from the ABDM portal. Thereafter, your identity will be verified in the nearby ABDM facility. Once completed, your unique health ID will be generated. For future usage, download the Ayushman card, preferably a pdf version.
3. Mobile Number-
If you don’t desire to use it or don’t have any of the above documents, get the unique ID created with the help of your mobile number. On the official website, click on ‘I don’t have any ID/ I don’t want to use my IDs for creating ABHA’, and enter the registered mobile number to get the OTP. Then, enter the details, username, and password to create the account seamlessly.
Documents Required To Register For ABHA:
Online registration for an ABHA card doesn’t require one to submit any documents physically. However, there is little information from your documents that needs to be entered to generate the ABHA ID.
● Mobile Number
● Pan Number
● Aadhar Number
● Driving License Number for generating an enrollment number
How To Download ABHA digital health ID card online:
After the registration is complete, the ABHA card download is an easy process. It can be done from different platforms such as:
● Visit the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) official website and log into your account. After that, locate your ABHA ID card and download it for future utilisation.
● You can also visit ABHA mobile app and log in to your account to download your unique health card.
● In case the above process is tedious or difficult to understand, you can even visit healthcare facilities such as community centres, hospitals, or wellness centres and get your ABHA card downloaded with their help.
● You can even get hands-on with your ABHA ID through third-party mobile applications like Paytm.
