If there is one saree involved in storytelling, then Baluchari it is. Coming all the way from Bengal, you will find scenes of mythology woven with silk threads. You will find the pallu, most intricately designed. These traditional silk sarees come in further varieties, like Resham, Meenakari, and Swarnachari.

Mysore Silk
Every Indian woman will be having one Mysore silk in their wardrobe. Counted amongst the favourite silk sarees in India, it comes from Mysore in Karnataka. These fabrics carry history, and are used in all sorts of weddings, traditional festivals, and for parties, as well. Mysore silk remains different from other silks, as it is made from pure mulberry silks, has real gold and silver zari, and is monitored and protected by the government.
Gadwal Silk
Coming from Telangana, the fabrics is mainly cotton-silk combo. Famous for contrast colours and light weight, you can easily wear them for long hours. The zari pallus make them ethereal. Moreover, you can get them in a riot of colours.
Kanjeevaram Silk
Named after Kanchipuram down south, the silk material is heavy and lustrous. The saree comes with broad contrast borders as well. The pure zari work is also out of this world. When it comes to choosing wedding sarees, especially in the south, Kanjeevarams score high. Some even weight more than 2 kg.
