Velvet is a perfect winter fabric which not only looks stylish, but also keeps you warm at the same time. And there are so many ways to use a velvet fabric to customize a stylish ethnic set for yourself. Here are some design inspirations….
Go for High and low hemline– Asymmetric hemline, especially high and low ones look really interesting and stylish. So if you want to give your set a fusion look then go for a kurti in this style and wear it with matching or contrast color pants.
Front open jacket style– A front open, jacket style kurta is a perfect silhouette to wear in winters. For a structured look, go for a nehru collar or the band collar neckline instead of other regular necklines. Keep the front slit a little high so that the design of your bottom is visible. Brocade pants look perfect with a velvet kurta, so do try it.
Princess cut A line kurta– Velvet is an excellent fabric to try A line kurta’s. Go for a princess cut detail to balance the design, and use embroidered laces or gota laces at the neckline and on the sleeves. Now silk looks very rich when paired with velvet, so you can also try wearing a silk pant and a bandhej dupatta in silk, both in contrast color to the kurta.
Embroidered jacket– Velvet jackets look chic and the embroidered ones can be worn along with a regular kurta and bottom on special occasions.
Kurta and sharara– For festive occasions or wedding functions you can also go for a single color short kurta and a matching sharara in velvet.
Kurti style– An embroidered kurti in velvet is also a great thing to wear in winters.
Use it as a odhni– An embroidered velvet odhni is a must have piece for every Indian wardrobe. In winters you can wear it as a shawl for special occasions and it looks super great.
Velvet anarkali– A plain velvet anarkali can be worn along with an all embroidered dupatta, or you can even wear a heavy brocade or silk dupatta along with this kurta style.
