5 Hot Milk Recipes To Enjoy In Winters

Winters bring in a lot of variety in food and drinks to enjoy the cold weather to fullest. Similarly, even milk gets its own companions in winters which are all loaded with health benefits. Look out for these hot milk winter recipes…..

Munnaka milk– Munnaka is a rich source of calcium and helps in strengthening bones and teeth. It is also great for eyes and helps in fighting dry cough and cold which is a common problem in winters. For one small cup of milk soak 2-3 munakka’s in water for an hour, and later cook the drained munakka’s in milk for 10-15 minutes. If you are preparing the milk specially for cough then add a bit of black pepper too.

Turmeric milk– Called the golden drink, turmeric milk has many health benefits. Turmeric is antiseptic and warm in nature and therefore helps fighting the common symptom of cold in winters. To make this milk simply add a pinch of turmeric to milk and boil for for 4-5 minutes. To increase the taste add a small stick of cinnamon and a bit of black pepper. You can avoid adding black pepper for kids if they don’t like the taste, but do add cinnamon as it helps in fighting inflation in body. Once the milk cools a bit add honey to taste.

Kesar milk– The health benefits of kesar is well known to us. To prepare kesar milk soak 2-3 kesar strands in warm milk for half an hour and then add it to 1 teacup of milk and boil for 3-5 minutes. Add sugar and serve warm. You can also add dry almond powder to this milk for added health benefits.

Dates milk– Dates are very rich in antioxidants and is also a brain booster. Simply boil fresh dates in milk with a pinch of cardamom and serve hot. You can also pre-prepare a paste of dates and store it in fridge. Just add a small spoon of it to hot milk whenever you want to have a cup of milk.

Masala milk- Bring milk to boil and add dry fruit powder to it. Add sugar and pinch of nutmeg to it and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Serve hot.
