Cape Style Kurtas For This Festive Season

When it comes to occasion and festive wear, we prefer wearing our traditional ethnic outfits as they match up perfectly with the festive mood of the occasion. And one also gets a chance to get all dressed up in their favorite ethnic accessories, makeup and hairdo. Well the whole idea of styling for a special occasion in ethnic style, just peps up the spirit of festivity too (Off course we would not like to be seen in our regular denims and T-shirts on such occasions). The basic silhouette which comes to mind and is high on comfort too, is kurta and a bottom. But the regular kurta style with bottom and dupatta is an old concept now. Capes have replaced the dupatta’s and have added a style to the otherwise regular looking 3 piece garment. They can be done on net, Georgette, Chiffon’s and any other flowing fabrics. They can be embroidered or just pep it up with a slight lace work. Here are few ways to style your Cape Kurtas for this festive season.

Short Cape Kurta with Asymmetric hemlines– A short kurta is styled with a matching cape over it and has light pearl work over it. Asymmetric front and back hemline makes it more interesting. Pair it up with pants for a fusion look.

Off Shoulder Cape– This asymmetric off shoulder cape is definitely something to go for if you want to wear capes but in a different style. A asymmetric off shoulder kurta provides a base to the cape over it. Go in for laces in tone in tone work, if you like to keep the embroidery light and minimalist.

V Style Cape– A different cape style in chiffon, beautifully embroidered in an abstract pattern at the back. Beads finishing gives it a more beautiful look. The High V cut at the front, and low sharp V cut at the back is what makes this silhouette different from rest of the capes.

Dupatta Cape– We call it a dupatta cape, as its stitched exactly how we are supposed to wear dupatta around the neck, the only difference is that its stitched and a neckline is done at the center to wear it.

Cape With Sleeve– A normal front open cape embroidered on net is a must have for wardrobe, as its multi functional. It can turn any garment into a festive look ensemble by just wearing it over your basic stuff. Sleeves are optional, like one in  the picture is exaggerated circular sleeve with a slit at sides.
