3 Lip Smacking Tricolor Recipes For Independence Day

Independence day is around the corner and nothing like starting your day with a theme based breakfast with the colors of tricolor on your plate. So here are three easy and yummy recipes which you can try for your family….

Tricolor Bread pakora– Prepare a batter of besan with red chili powder, salt, coriander powder, and garam masala ad allow it to rest for 20 minutes. Now take two slices of bread and spread tomato sauce on one slice and coriander mint chutney on the other slice. Place a thick slice of panner in between these two bread pieces, dip them in the prepared batter of besan and deep fry them quickly.

Sandwich– For the orange layer mix grated carrots with mayonnaise and for the green layer mix grated paneer in green chutney. Add salt and pepper to taste in both the mixture. You can also prepare a mixture of potato and cheese for the white layer. Take three slices of sandwich bread and spread these mixtures gently on the. Close the upper layer of the sandwich with a slice of bread.

Dhokla– In a bowl take rava and curd in 1:1 ratio and prepare a batter using little bit of water. The batter should not be too runny neither it should be too thick. To this add ginger paste and salt and leave it for 20 minutes. In the meanwhile prepare colored purees for the green and orange color. You can use food color also but its always better to go in for natural ingredients instead of chemicals. For green color use a puree of spinach, green chilies and coriander leaves, and for the orange one use a puree of tomato with little bit of turmeric powder in it. You can also replace rava with besan for a bright orange color. Once you have the purees ready, then divide the rava batter into three different bowls and mix the purees in the two bowls. Grease the utensils in which you want to cook dhokla and start with the green batter first. Cook it for 2-3 minutes after which take it out and pour the white batter into it and again keep it in the steamer. Repeat the process with the last orange layer. Once all the layers are done, take it out and pore a tadka made from mustard seeds, kari patta, green chilies sauteed in oil. Garnish with grated coconut.
