7 Ways To Recycle Old Brocade Saree

We often do not feel like throwing our expensive silk and brocade sarees. They last ages and have beautiful textures and designs on them. But somehow you get bored of wearing them year after year, here are some ideas to reuse and recycle the fabric into a new dress.

Anarkali– Any brocade saree can be turned into a gorgeous looking full flare anarkali. You can wear it with or without dupatta. Traditional handloom dupattas in Chanderi, brocades and Maheshwari go with this look completely.

Brocade Skirt Jacket– If you have a two color saree, like body in one color and palla in a different color then this style can be done. Use the body part for the skirt and palla part for jacket.

Long jacket and skirt– A long jacket with a front slit or two princess cut slit looks good in brocades. The richness of the fabric and the texture is unbeaten when it comes to choose fabric for this cut, especially when it is supposed to be plain without embroidery. Choose a plain skirt with this.

Ethnic Dress– Styling up a dress from your old saree can be really satisfying. This festive season get a dress stitched for yourself in this way and this will be the most stylish way to reuse your old saree.

Lehnga style– A simple lehnga without any embroidery looks best in brocade fabric. You can do a similar look for lehnga choli by making it in the similar fabric and using a contrast dupatta with it, or just the lehnga can be done in brocade and borders similar to it can be used on dupatta with a contrast choli or a top.

Brocade kurta– A long brocade kurta goes well with any palazzo, pants and churidaar. The look goes with or without dupatta.
